"Just When I Thought I Was Out, Vegas Reels Me Back In" August 2023 TR

Introduction: Hello again and welcome to all for another WolfieG TR! After falling in love with Las Vegas again after my last TR, when I went there in September 2022, I decided to go there once again in August 2023. Although over a year has passed since this trip, I cannot wait to recall yet another fabulous trip to Las Vegas! I would have written this TR much sooner, but work has been busier than ever so I barely have time to relax at times. Although I went to Vegas solo in September 2022, my Mother ended up joining me for this trip, which added to the fun! Save for some trips here and there, she has not traveled as much since it did not pique her interest as much for a while. However, not wanting to be by herself and being interested in going back to Vegas again for the first time in 22-years for her, I could not help but not invite her as I am very thankful to have her as she has been an amazing parent to me. In addition, the fact that she is a bit of a nerd, like I am, would also add to the enjoyment of my trip. What's more? I would also enjoy having her see Vegas for the first time in over 20-years from her perspective, as since she was last there with me as a child back in June-July 2001, she would get to see all of the changes in Vegas, from new resorts and attractions and what is gone and has been replaced. In addition, one might wonder how this TR attained its title? Well, after loving the quote from Michael Corleone "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in" from "The Godfather III" as well as watching it on my flight home from Vegas in 2022, it just stuck with me! This quote stuck with me as while I did not get entrenched back into a life of crime like Corleone did, even though I was not sure if I would go back to Vegas right away, Sin City's charms just lured me back. With these facts in mind, I decided to book us a trip to Las Vegas during the Summer of 2023.

*Before Trip:
Around January 2023, I had pondered the thought of a trip to Las Vegas for sometime during the Summer of 2023. As I began planning our trip in January 2023, I was almost at two years of employment with my job at a major hotel chain in Northern Palm Beach County, where I work in front facing customer service as of March 2021. I am very grateful for this job and as of this writing, I am proudly employed there still to this day. Being that I was hitting my two year anniversary of employment in March 2023, I knew my paid time off would increase from 5-days after my first year of employment to 2-weeks. We decided to opt to travel to Vegas in the Summer, as we do not mind the warmer weather and more importantly, I would not want to miss busy times at work. After checking the meeting and events calendar at my work, me and my Mother decided to travel to Las Vegas from Monday, August 7th-Sunday, August 13th, 2023. Once again, booking our hotel was easy, as like the year before, I would stay at the Resorts World, as I had a fantastic experience there the year before and being on The Strip, it was close to the action. For those who are new to my TR or don't mind me nerding out, the building housing Resorts World is owned by Genting, a conglomerate out of Malaysia that operates many casinos around the world, including Resorts World Las Vegas. For their hotel operation, they partnered with Hilton in February 2020 (Hilton partners with Resorts World on Las Vegas Strip — VIDEO | Las Vegas Review-Journal (reviewjournal.com)). This resulted in the property having over 3,500 rooms with three different hotels within the building, with the most (1,774 rooms) under the Hilton brand, 1,496 rooms belonging to Hilton's luxury Conrad brand, and 236 rooms belonging to Crockfords by LXR, one of Hilton's other luxury brands. Although we would have been very happy at the Conrad, which was excellent when I last stayed there, we decided to stay at Crockfords by LXR, as I had wanted to stay there the first time I stayed at Resorts World and it would enable me to stay in a ***** hotel once again, a rare treat, as I usually stay in ***-**** properties on average. Plus, my Mother loved how opulent the room looked and figured it would be quite the treat! In addition, the price would put me at less than $100/night, which is not bad at all (cannot tell you rate for privacy reasons). With that decision in mind, I found a room with 2 Queen Beds on my employee discount and booked it.

Next up was booking our flights. Before this point, when my Mother used to travel to Vegas with me, I used to fly from New York-John. F Kennedy International to Vegas, usually on Delta or America West (now defunct since they merged with US Airways and later American). Since my two closest airports to my residence in Delray Beach are Palm Beach International (PBI) in West Palm Beach (closest and easiest option) and Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International (FLL) in Fort Lauderdale, I checked them first. I wanted to fly nonstop, but ever since COVID-19, there have been fewer nonstop frequencies between FLL and LAS. When I checked jetBlue, one of the operators of FLL-LAS, they only had an evening flight between the two cities, which would not have worked as well since I wanted to maximize my time in Vegas, especially with only five days. However, having an e-certificate thanks to my Delta Skymiles Gold Amex as well as my Mother having some leftover e-credits from a trip to New York for personal reasons she never took as the trip got cancelled, we decided to go with Delta, as even with connections, the scheduling would still work in our favor and we usually enjoy flying with them. Lucky for us, we found a roundtrip that left from PBI, which was excellent as it is less than 30-minutes from our home. What's more? It has much lower check-in and security wait times versus the neighboring airports down south. Flying out of PBI, we would take Delta 1603, which would leave PBI at 8:00AM and arrive in Atlanta at 9:42AM. From there, we would have about an hour and a half layover until Delta 555, which would leave for Vegas at 11:13AM and get there at 12:20PM, leaving us with about half a day still. Going home, we would fly on Delta 555, which would leave Vegas at 1:45PM and arrive in Atlanta at 8:53PM. From there, we would have a 2.5-hour layover until Delta 1495, which would leave for PBI at 11:35PM and arrive there at 1:14AM the next morning. Both flights were in Comfort+, so we would have a little extra room for the cross country journeys. With our hotel and flights booked, I then asked for Sunday, August 6th-Monday, August 14th, 2023 off, which was granted! Although we would not be leaving until Monday, August 7th, 2023, now having 2-weeks of PTO, I decided to take advantage by using Sunday, August 6th, 2024 as a day to do last minute preparations for the trip, like errands, prepping the house, and of course, a little bit of relaxation. In addition, although we would leave Vegas on Sunday, August 13th, 2023, I asked for Monday, August 14th, 2023 off to allow for a buffer in case of any delays. This paid off during my September 2022 trip to Vegas, as coming home, I experienced a misconnect in Atlanta due to my plane from Vegas being late as the result of mechanical problems on its incoming flight to Vegas, delaying its departure from its origin in Atlanta. Because I had a buffer day, even with an overnight stay in Atlanta, I did not miss any work, proving that my choice to have buffer day could not have worked out better! However, for some reason, I only have a screenshot of our flight from PBI to LAS.

After booking our trip, I did not have to do too much planning, as although Vegas has an amazing show scene and I had the pleasure of seeing David Copperfield, one of the most famous magicians on my last trip, we wanted to focus more on touring, so there was no need for me to book any show tickets. However, I did want to plan a couple of meals out. Being that sushi is one of my Mother's favorite foods and mine as well, I researched the best sushi restaurants on The Strip. Nobu at Caesar's came up as a well-regarded option, but when we went to the one at the former Hard Rock in the past, my Mother felt it was good, but overrated and pricey for what you get. Her former favorite for sushi in Vegas was Tsunami at the Venetian's Grand Canal Shoppes, which sadly went out of business. I then researched Mizumi at the Wynn, which was also well regarded but it would be closed for renovations. However, Yellowtail by Akira Back at Bellagio proved to be another excellent option from what we had read, thanks to good reviews from people who have eaten there as well as a great location, thanks to it having views of the gorgeous Bellagio Fountains. In addition, from what I could see of the menu, the prices did not seem horrible, so I went ahead and booked a reservation for two at 7:30PM on Monday, August 7th, 2023, as this would make for an excellent start to our trip!

Another favorite I wanted to book was Bacchanal, the famous buffet at Caesars Palace. Before my September 2022, I had not tried a Vegas buffet and from what I read, Bacchanal was one of the best and after trying it twice for myself, I felt it definitely lived up to the hype thanks to the sublime food, friendly and accomodating service, and festive atmosphere! I also tried The Buffet at Wynn on that trip for brunch and while it was delicious as well, Bacchanal edged them in the food department. I invited my Mother to join me, but she declined, as she does not eat a lot of the food, so she wanted me to go solo and she would do something else. With that in mind, I booked Bacchanal for dinner, as they have an amazing seafood selection for the nights of Tuesday, August 8th, 2023 at 6:15PM and Friday, August 11th, 2023 at 6:00PM.

Although our original flights would have worked out well, on the night of Saturday, May 21st, 2023, I decided to look at other Delta flights out of PBI or FLL to see if the prices changed? Well, lo-and-behold, I was able to find a First Class fare for us both for not much more than what we had paid. However, there was a catch. The only catch would be that instead of leaving from PBI, we would leave from Fort Lauderdale (FLL), which was not a big deal since it is only 10-minutes more from where we live versus PBI. For our trip to Vegas, we would leave FLL at 7:17AM on Delta 745, which would take us to Salt Lake City and get there at 10:25AM on an Airbus A321. This would be neat, as we had changed planes there once before when we had a connecting flight from JFK to Vegas back in 1998, so it would be kind of cool to be back there. In addition, I had heard they had opened up a brand new terminal in 2020, which I was interested in seeing. From Salt Lake City, we would then take Delta 2071, which would leave at 11:55AM and arrive in Las Vegas at 12:20PM on a Boeing 757-200. Lucky for us, we would still be able to fly home to PBI, with the flights even remaining the same, save for minor schedule changes. we would fly on Delta 555, which would now leave Vegas at 1:47PM and arrive in Atlanta at 9:00PM. From there, we would now have a 2 hour layover until Delta 1495, as it was leaving about half an hour earlier.

There was still not much to plan, but I wanted to finalize a few things for our stay before the trip. First was to book a pet sitter to watch our dogs. Before this point, we had a pet sitter who had watched our Affenpinschers, or monkey-like terriers in German back in October 2020 when I needed to go to Sarasota with my Mother for a couple of days. She did a good job and was very reasonable, but she moved to North Carolina, so she was out of the question. Luckily, our friend/ex-neighbor who owns 4 sheepdogs gave a glowing recommendation to his pet sitting company. When we used to live in our old neighborhood, we even met the owner of the company, as she was walking one of his sheepdogs and my Mother had a positive impression of her. At that time, the only reason we didn't use her was because we had our former pet sitter. Lucky for us, when I called the pet sitting company our friend uses, the owner answered the phone and remembered us. She had availability for the dates of our trip and offered us the option to have her team of pet sitters come twice a day, sleep over, or a combination of coming twice a day and sleeping over some nights. A few days later, we met the three pet sitters who would be working as a team, to ensure our dogs were always attended to. The three ladies who came, who ended up being our pet sitters, were lovely and thankfully, the dogs took kindly to them right away, so we knew it would be an easy decision to hire them. In addition, they also planned to come back a day or two before the trip to get further instructions on caring for our dogs as well as to get a key/garage opener from us. With the pet sitter arranged, we had even more peace of mind!

Next, I needed to take care of some requests regarding our hotel reservation. On Sunday, July 16th, 2023, I called Crockfords. Amanda, one of the Front Desk Agents answered the phone and she was awesome, thanks to her kindness, professionalism, and knowledge. I asked her if she would be able to place a request for 1:00PM-2:00PM early check-in, as if all went well, including a stop for our rideshare at the Walmart near Harry Reid International Airport to pick up groceries, we would probably be at Resorts World at 2:00PM. Amanda noted our request, but stated it was subject to availability, which was something I understood well. In addition, she also said that thanks to my employment, she would do her best to get me an upgrade if one was available, which was very kind of her! I then asked Amanda if I could be transferred to the Concierge, as I wanted to look into the possibility of doing an outdoor attraction? Once again, Amanda obliged and then transferred me to Jalyn, who proved to be very knowledgeable. When I asked her about some outdoor activities that would not take us away from Vegas for too long, she proposed the possibility of a plane tour over the Grand Canyon for $587! When I balked due to the price being higher than I would have liked, she understood and offered to set us up with a bus tour that would take about half the day. I proposed this to my Mother who was nearby, but she decided it would take up too much time. Jaylyn understood and when I mentioned we would not have a rental car, she then mentioned Springs Preserve, a nature preserve approximately built around the Las Vegas Springs, the original source of water for Las Vegas located three miles west of Downtown Las Vegas (Springs Preserve Homepage) . With walking trails, botanical gardens, nature exhibits, and the Nevada State Museum, it would make for a nice break from the neon jungle of Las Vegas haha! We would have also considered Red Rock Canyon, but due to higher rideshare costs as well as not being easily reached by mass transit, it was out of the question, so Springs Preserve won!

As the trip came closer and closer into view, I then decided to reconfirm our room requests, so on Tuesday, August 1st, 2023, I called Crockfords by LXR once again and was assisted by Christine, who was very polite, helpful, and on point! My requests for a 1:00PM-2:00PM check in if available as well as a possible room upgrade if available were confirmed, so we were all set on the hotel front. A few days earlier, I then got an email from Delta inviting me to select our First Class meals for DL745 from FLL-SLC.

The options all looked excellent and I nearly had my eyes on the Cheese and Charcuterie Platter, which sounded delicious with its combination of cheeses. Unfortunately, since I keep somewhat kosher, the fact that it was also served with beef salami would not work. Why is this you may ask? Well, kosher dietary laws forbid meat and milk from being mixed together and although I am far more lenient outside of the home, I still do my best to not eat meat and milk mixed together these days, although I am not always perfect. Since I could definitely not eat the other two options offered, I then called Delta to ask about special meals (my Mother brings her own food due to multiple allergies (far more than me) and keeps somewhat kosher as well.). Allison, who took my call, was fabulous! I first asked about the kosher meal on the FLL-SLC route, which would have been my obvious choice. She said that in general, the kosher breakfast on this route would usually be an omelet or oatmeal. Neither of these options would have worked for me, as I am allergic to eggs and all grains except for corn and rice respectively. Understanding my situation as I told Allison about my allergies, she suggested an Asian Vegetarian Meal, as it would contain no eggs. She added that it would be an Indian style meal, which I would not mind since I do like Indian food. In addition, Allison added in the worst case scenario that sometimes, the Flight Attendants would let me have the buy-on-board Fruit and Cheese Plate, which is vegetarian. With these facts in mind, I went ahead and ordered two Asian Vegetarian Meals.

Finally, since me and my Mother were both traveling to Las Vegas, I decided to have someone connected to the hotel where I work drive us to FLL and back to Delray Beach from PBI, as he was willing to give me a break on rides to/from the airports for not much more than an Uber/Lyft. In addition, although it does not really matter as all I care about is that my ride to the airport is safe, comfortable, and clean, he has a fleet of 20 or so Cadillac Escalades/Chevrolet Suburbans/GMC Yukons, so it would mean a luxurious and reliable ride to/from the airport. Since I cannot give away too much information as we had a special agreement, please send me a private message here on FlyerTalk if you wish to use his car service. He works mainly in Palm Beach County and does an excellent job! For our pick up times, since we wanted to be at the airport about an hour and a half prior to Delta 745's 6:37AM boarding time, we booked our driver to pick us up at 4:50AM on Monday, August 7th, 2023, since it takes about 40-minutes to get to FLL from Delray Beach. As far as coming home, we arranged for our driver to pick us up at PBI at about 45-minutes past midnight, as that would be about when our second leg of our trip home from Atlanta would arrive at PBI. With everything for our trip all set, all we had to do was wait!

a) Before Airport:
The year flew by from the time I booked our trip in January 2023 and before I knew it, Saturday, August 5th, 2023, had arrived! This meant I only had two days until I would travel to Sin City. Since I would have Sunday, August 6th, 2023 off, I only had one shift that morning from 7:00AM to 3:00PM at my fabulous job in guest service at the hotel where I work in Northern Palm Beach County. Thanks to a high number of check-ins, I knew it would be a busy day ahead! I awakened at 5:00AM, leaving me plenty of time to wake up, get ready, and have breakfast. I then left home at 6:20AM, driving through the western suburbs of Delray Beach before I hit I-95 north. The drive went smoothly and I clocked into work right on time! The day was especially busy and thanks to having a lot of tasks to make my job work properly as well as assisting the many guests who were checking in, time flew by and before I knew it, it was the end of my shift! I thought I would be done for the day, however, I ended up staying a little bit later until 3:15PM, as I assisted my coworker in checking in a few extra guests to help speed things up. With checking in the extra guests out of the way, I then bid my friends/coworkers fond farewells, looking forward to seeing them again ten days later. With my day complete, I had only one task after work, which was to get my haircut, so I began my drive from work to my stylist in Boynton Beach. I got I-95 southbound towards Miami. The drive to Boynton Beach went smoothly, save for some light rain in West Palm Beach from Exit 70: FL-704 (Okeechobee Boulevard)-Downtown West Palm Beach to Exit 69B: Palm Beach International Airport. From Exit 69B to Exit 60: Hypoluxo Road in Lantana, it was sunny again but after Exit 60, it then became overcast until I hit Exit 56: Woolbright Road in Boynton Beach, which was where I needed to get off. From there, I then took Woolbright Boulevard east to Federal Highway (US 1) Once I reached US 1, I then turned right, driving about 1/4 mile south to her salon. Once at her salon, I then checked in, ready for my appointment. My Mother also had an appointment, so we ended up meeting each other. At the salon, we had a wonderful time with our stylist, who we consider a fabulous friend and excellent stylist, as we have had the pleasure of knowing her since 2019. As our friend/stylist did our hair, she wanted to know about our plans for our trip to Vegas? We told her that we mainly planned to sightsee, hitting up the various resorts along The Strip, Fremont Street for a taste of old school Las Vegas, and possibly a museum or two. In addition, we also told her we would gamble a little bit and of course, enjoy Vegas's dining scene. Our friend/stylist was excited for us and we had a grand old time just being with her! A short while later, I felt wonderful thanks to a fabulous haircut, making me feel even more excited for our trip!

After our appointments at the salon, me and my Mother decided to head to Planet Fitness in Delray Beach on Military Trail and Atlantic Avenue (FL-806), as we wanted to get a workout in before heading home. Once there, I did weights and a little bit of the elliptical, which gave me an extra burst of energy! After that, we then went home and I ate dinner and rested for a little bit. Since I was mostly packed for the trip, save for a few odds and ends, I did not have much to do that evening and since I did not have to work the next day, I was able to take it easy! However, wanting to make the day before our trip even smoother and not having to worry about going to sleep super early, like I would the night before an AM shift at my job, I decided to go to Walmart to pick up a few toiletries me and my Mother needed. My Mother was pleased by this prospect and at 8:25PM, I left our home and headed to our nearby Walmart, which is a mere ten minute drive away. Once at Walmart, I got the few toiletries we needed and then headed home. Once at home, I spent time with my Mother and our dogs, cleaned up a little bit, and once all was said and done, went to bed a little after Midnight that Saturday night and only seven hours later, I had awakened at about 7:30AM Sunday morning, excited that in only one day, I would be heading back to Vegas with my Mother! Feeling bright-eyed and bushy tailed, I washed up and got ready. Only a little bit later, I checked my phone and received a notification via the Fly Delta App that I could check in for our flights to Vegas.

Two minutes later at 8:16AM, my boarding passes were ready!

For the rest of the morning, me and my Mother did work around the house. It was not until about 1:00PM that we left our home, as we still had to run errands, including going to the mall to pick up a few last minute items needed for the trip as well as items needed for our pets at other stores. Once we left home, we then headed to our local mall, Town Center Mall in Boca Raton which is a vibrant and beautiful mall! After leaving our neighborhood, we turned right on Atlantic Avenue (FL-806) to head westbound to the next intersection, which was Jog Road. At that intersection, we turned left on Jog Road to head southbound for most of the drive, then reaching the intersection of Glades Road (FL-808). Shortly after, we arrived at the Town Center Mall at about 1:20PM. We first went to Macy's, as my Mother needed a certain type of cosmetic for our trip as well as some bedding. Our first stop was at the LensCrafters counter, which worked out well as we entered Macy's, since we parked on the top parking deck closest to that entrance. Once at the LensCrafters counter, we then purchased some eyeglass cleaner, which worked out well since it was the one we needed and was comparable to the one we usually purchase at Costco. This worked out well, as we were near saving an additional stop at Costco. Wanting to save an additional stop, it immediately came to mind that Backstage, Macy's store within a store that is an answer to TJ-Maxx/Marshalls carried wee wee pads that our dogs needed. With this in mind, we headed to the third floor, where Backstage is located and once there, we found wee wee pads for only about a dollar more than Costco, which worked perfectly, as we were now able to eliminate a stop at Costco! While in Backstage, we also found some bedding and a toiletry case for me, so our stop at Macy's was complete! After we stopped at the At Your Service Desk where they held our purchases until we would leave the mall, we then headed to the Food Court. Of course, we took in the beautiful Town Center Mall's scenery.

Shortly after leaving Macy's, we arrived at the Food Court, which was quite busy. My original plan was to get Chick-fil-A, however, forgetting that they were closed on Sunday, I realized that this would not be an option. Lucky for me, Maoz, a quick service restaurant I am familiar with as I have had their kosher falafel at this location as well as their former location at the Roosevelt Field Mall on Long Island. In addition to Town Center in Boca, Maoz also has other locations including others in South Florida, New York City, Chicago, South Florida, Barcelona, The Netherlands, Paris, and Sao Paulo. I did not have to wait for too long and the excellent employees helped me put together a Combo Meal, with Falafel served atop a salad of various vegetables and pickles, a side of Belgian style fries, and Lemonade to drink. Since the preparation of your food is akin to Subway or Chipotle, I was able to put the meal together exactly to my tastes. I chose pickles, tomato and cucumber salad, carrot coins, and cilantro sauce. At the sauce station, I also selected yogurt sauce to balance some of the heat in my dish. A few minutes later, my food was ready and I grabbed a table. I found my fairly large falafel salad to be delicious, with falafel balls that were piquant, crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I also enjoyed the crisp lettuce, crunchy and refreshing tomato and cucumber salad, the briny pickles, the sweet and crisp carrot coins, the slight bite of the cilantro sauce, and the tart yogurt sauce. I also enjoyed the fries, which were thick as well as crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. In addition, the sweet and tart lemonade with a hint of mint was perfect to wash down my meal. Thanks to even more food allergies than myself, my Mother brought her own food from home. After a delicious and filling lunch, we then had to make another stop at Nordstrom, as my Mother wanted to buy makeup on sale there. After Nordstrom, we then walked back to Macy's, where we then walked back to the At Your Service Desk, where they had held our purchases that we had made earlier. With the time being 3:30PM, we were a bit ahead of schedule thanks to the fact that we would no longer need to stop at Costco. Once we left the mall, our next stops were at Trader Joe's in Delray Beach as well as Pet Supermarket, where we would buy dog food. Since the two stores were in the same shopping center, this would make for a quicker than expected stop! Wasting no time, I drove out of the Town Center Mall, taking Glades Road east to I-95 northbound towards West Palm Beach. It was a smooth and quick trip up I-95 (although the diverging diamond interchange that had opened a few months prior to enter I-95 from Glades was new to me, but actually easy to maneuver as I remembered using one off of I-75 in Sarasota back in 2020 and 2021) and soon enough, I was exiting I-95 at Exit 51: Linton Blvd. After taking Linton Boulevard east just past the intersection of Federal Highway (US 1), we then entered the Trader Joe's where we purchased items for some groceries, including some items for the trip while we were in Vegas, as well as food for the journey, in case we got delayed. Next, we went to Pet Supermarket in the same shopping center, where we purchased the kibble that our dogs eat in addition to the human grade food that we cooked for them that our pet sitters would feed them. With our errands at Trader Joe's and Pet Supermarket complete, me and my Mother then drove closer to our home, where we stopped at Planet Fitness on Military Trail and Atlantic Avenue (FL-806) to do a quick workout followed by a run to the Publix in the same plaza, where we picked up yet a few more groceries. We then got home at about 6:30PM, where we had dinner and shortly after, handed off one of our garage openers to the pet sitters when they stopped at the house. We had the pleasure of meeting the pet sitters earlier in the week along with the dogs (don't worry, everyone hit it off so we knew our dogs would be in good hands). Next, I checked the status of our flight to Salt Lake City. According to the FlyDeltaApp, the aircraft that would be operating Delta 745, our flight to Salt Lake City, would be arriving from New York-LaGuardia as Delta 1528. It would depart on time from LaGuardia at 7:59PM and arrive in Fort Lauderdale at 11:17PM, where it would spend the night until it would operate our flight.

With those tasks on the way, we did some last minute packing and then wound down for the night, of course spending lots of time with our dogs, since we would have to be up at 3:00AM the next morning. At about 9:45PM, I then plugged in my iPhone and Apple watch to charge. After that, I was then able to select the meal for the first of our two flights home, Delta 555 from Las Vegas to Atlanta. Once again, the options all sounded excellent, however, the Arugula Salad topped with burrata called my name, so that was what I selected for my meal.

Then, I found out that due to inclement weather in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, Delta 1528 from New York-LaGuardia was delayed by close to five hours, not leaving until 12:36AM and arriving in Fort Lauderdale at 3:54AM.

Nevertheless, I figured that in the worst case scenario, we would still get to Vegas, even if we were a little delayed. Finally, I then ordered some groceries from the Walmart on Eastern Avenue, which is the closest Walmart to Harry Reid International Airport (LAS). Just like the time I had gone to Vegas the year prior, I would have our rideshare stop at the Walmart enroute to our hotel, so we would get items for the room, including items for my breakfasts like fruits and cheese as well as items for my Mother, who has even more food allergies than I do and keeps somewhat kosher, including some heads of iceberg lettuce and her favorite salad dressing, which she uses to make salads, one of her favorite foods. By 10:20PM, I had placed our Walmart order for a 12:00PM-1:00PM pickup window the next day.

With all of my tasks for the morning out of the way, I then went to sleep shortly after, excited for the day ahead!
