Have stayed at the Liverpool Hilton a few times this year. Usually get upgraded but even the Exec rooms are in need of refurbishment. Having said that, wife and I both like the hotel for its location so close to the Albert Dock and room rates are often quite reasonable. Lounge is opposite reception area and being quite small, usually fills up quickly before the evening drinks and food start. When it's full, have seen guests taking food and drinks out to the bar/lounge area and it doesn't seem to bother the Exec lounge staff. No sparkling wine but spirits, wine and beers are all self serve and the food is replenished throughout the evening. Parking at the front of the hotel is very limited and if you're lucky, you may be able to grab a parking space. Diamonds get a 50% reduction on the £25 parking charge per night. Otherwise, parking is available in the adjacent underground car park of Liverpool One. One thing I never realised is that there are apartments above the hotel. Always thought the building was solely the Hilton hotel until I saw some balconies on the upper floors of the building!
So parking outside in the very limited number of spaces, is £12.50 for Diamonds?
I’m guessing this is cheaper than the discounted rate at the Q Park.
As for the apartments on top, I was unlucky enough to be in a room on a high floor at the Liverpool one end of the hotel, one New Year’s Eve. You could hear most of the conversation in the apartment above.
It seemed that the occupant was having a massive row with whoever else was in there with him. Culminating in slamming of doors and further heated conversations.
Just what I needed to be woken up with on New Year’s Day morning!
