I'm traveling with wife and 4-year-old daughter, and I'm trying to make up my mind between these two hotels.

We enjoy walking but are happy to use public transportation or taxis. I would be booking a 1-bedroom suite at either hotel through a STARS travel advisor; perks like free breakfast are included at both hotels (even at the Edition). Price is roughly the same for a comparable suite at either hotel for my date (so price is not a factor).

Here's what I've been weighing:

• JW Marriott:
  • Highly recommended with excellent reviews.
  • Located near Marina Bay Sands and many attractions in that area.
  • Main con is that it feels like it's in more of a business district. I also don't love the décor from the reviews I've seen.
• The Edition:
  • New hotel and it matches my preference for style and design.
  • Situated on Orchard Road, close to the Christmas lights, which sounds appealing.
  • Main con is that we don't shop, and I know this is in the main shopping area.

Can someone please help me decide?
