Just wrapped up another great stay here. I won't completely re-hash my previous post, but here are a few notes from this vacation:
- No hurricane damage, other than they had to re-build the beach huts.
- I was thanked for my platinum status, but no room upgrade available. Continental breakfast for 2 is included at Maia restaurant and is a big enough spread of items. It was ~$2 to add on my toddler.
- The nightly happy hour at Kane is outstanding. Heavily discounted appetizers, $5 beers, and discounted wine and cocktails. Coupled with the fact that the sun sets right after happy hour and the fire show takes place on the beach right next to Kane, it's my favorite way to wind down a day on Marco. It's worth it to stop by for this even if you are not staying at the hotel.
- There are a number of options for renting "premium" pool or beach seating, but I don't think any of them are worth the price. The cabanas aren't located close to the actual pool so there isn't much of a view, and the chickee huts are so far away from the water they're pointless unless you really want a huge shaded area. The pricing is as follows:
- Pool loungers: $33 per chair per day
- Cabanas at Quinn's pool: $500/day plus tax/fees and a $100 food/bev minimum
- Beach Chickee Hut: $200 + $12 tax + $40 "service charge" = $252. Plus a $150 food/bev minimum and 20% gratuity, so it's $400++ for the day.
- Waterfront Daybeds: $300 + $18 tax + $60 "Service charge" = $378. Plus a $150 food/bev minimum and 20% gratuity, so it's $550++ for the day.
This is an annual trip for us and I feel like I know the resort and island like the back of my hand at this point. So please let me know if you have any questions.
