While I like the idea of extending AKL YVR to LON, it would be in direct competition with daily AC flights--which I think ratchets up to 10/week in their summer. Plus BA flies it too. Even with the longer flight time, HKG always made more sense to me: a proper transit airport nearly halfway between LON and AKL, and no Star Alliance non-stop flights LON HKG.
