it’s not worth worrying about too much and unless you’re on a flexible ticket there’s not much you can do about it!
Based on my experience with configuration changes (CS to CW and CW to CS) it generally works like this:
-If the seat number you chose in the first configuration exists in the new configuration, you will be assigned the same seat number regardless of where it is and you won't be notified by email.
-if the seat number you chose in the first configuration doesn't exist in the new configuration, you will be assigned a random seat number. I'm not sure how its assigned, but it seems the above condition (like for like seat number) is prioritised. In this case you would normally be notified of the change by email.
