(as a side note, if I pay (using avoid or $$) for seats in CS and we are switched back to CW, how do they 'translate' the seat choice? We will most likely choose two K seats in front/back of each other. How does that translate?

Nothing else has gone into Cardiff Maintenance since JB emerged so just the two 788s exist and nothing else will be fitted by January. If one of the two 788s is unserviceable then BA would almost certainly use a non suites fitted 788 or 789 with a much lower probability of a suites fitted 78X (-10). Only in the most exceptional circumstances would you get a 777 with suites as that requires deploying different crew.

I am not sure exactly how seats are transferred but it depends - technically there are seats for everyone. Generally I’d expect them to keep people as close to original as they can.

it’s not worth worrying about too much and unless you’re on a flexible ticket there’s not much you can do about it!
