There have been some reductions on Alaska (notably, SEA-ANC meals have had a couple of cuts, obnoxiously). But overall, I'm quite happy with the meals--both F and Y--Alaska is putting together.
And I certainly don't think they've gone downhill, as long as you're not flying out of SAN with their inept catering contractor who cannot do anything right.
The beef rib with mac and cheese is honestly one of my favorite F meals across all airlines and I guess it's popular enough that it has become the AA version of the AS Fruit and Cheese plate...it's on every domestic flight with a meal in F. I do wish AS would do that with the Angus Tillamook cheeseburger..lol. The area where AS is light years better than AA is the BOB menu in Y.
