This is why it's a good idea not to get into the habit of assuming things.
We know for sure how it will work for OPs journey because we know the airline, the route and the policies.
But xenole is correct in stating that this is not universal. So if you are transiting through the US or Asia or on other airlines you need to make sure you check it out as otherwise you may find your luggage spinning around in no mans land rather than greeting you at your final destination.
