- T2 (unless it's half-term or something) does not usually require fast track, and the Elizabeth line is now stable enough to be the better value choice compared to HEX, certainly if not traveling to the immediate vicinity of Paddington station. Quite a few places have changed their travel policies as a result - no more cab + HEX if traveling from the City, even for those where that was normal before and where you weren't expected to take the Piccadilly line to save a few quid.
Thank you. This time my destination is in Mayfair by Hyde Park so the Elizabeth Line does not help much as it would be a long walk from the Bond Street station with the bags. For that destination, HEX+cab seems best. However, I agree in general that if you're going within walking distance of an Elizabeth line stop, the Elizabeth line is the way to go.

Unlike, say, the BA First Wing in T5 the scanning machines have not been updated so currently you're taking everything out of your bag and repacking it. The queues often snake through the tensabarriers. It really is anything but a premium experience.
If you've got it by default with the train ticket then you might as well use it (although note if you have a very early flight it won't be open anyway, and nor does it operate to a guaranteed opening time) but don't expect any better experience than through the standard security and possibly worst.
Thank you for sharing your experience. This will be a 6 pm departure to SNN, so hopefully, it will save a bit of time in line if the airport happens to be busy at that time.
