1h25 with ESTA is not a good scenario. I’ve done many INTL-Domestic connections in the last 12 months. I usually time them. The shortest one took me 1h7m from deplaning to clearing security. I was among the first passengers off, then cleared immigration through the Diplomatic line, claimed luggage and dropped it off, and then clearing security through the US Citizens line (in ATL they split passengers between US Citizens/Residents and visitors, takes longer to go through security as a visitor). This was in Concourse F, which is faster than E when it comes to clearing security.
Longest one was 1h51m in Concourse E. Again, clearing immigration through the Diplomatic line (which means probably 2 minutes wait), no bags to claim, and clearing security through the visitors line (I only became eligible to use the US Citizens line when I got Global Entry/TSA Pre approved). For this flight, I only had a 2h30m connection and by the time I got to the connecting gate, they were boarding all zones.
Both were between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm
