I sort of understand charging for beach chairs to preserve availability for those who really want them. There's no hope of providing enough chairs for 800 rooms' worth of guests, half of whom would drop a book in the morning and then disappear. The hotel is simply too big for its own good.
But at the same time, $150/day on top of the $55 resort fee (which covers what now, exactly?) and $85 parking is simply extortionate.
Browsing the web site, I noticed "contactless room service." Is that a euphemism for takeout containers left outside your door in a paper bag? And "daily housekeeping." Shouldn't that be twice daily?
As I've said before, I like this place, but it shouldn't be a Waldorf Astoria.
after 30 to 60 mins of being unattended they take down the umbrella and chairs, we get out early and have never had an issue getting chairs
