Just because you have zero status with an airlines does not mean you should be treated poorly. I have status with United and it can be a mess to change a flight when a basic delay happens.
It isnt that passengers are treated poorly but rather that premium passengers are prioritized and treated expeditiously . Having spent hours on phone waiting for agents on likes of AA, BA, DL and LH what is being described as regards GM UA call lines is not unique and if anything seems better than competitors. At least UA still has a 24h service.
