The AC Venezia is a fine value option if the most important thing is proximity to transit and a comparatively lower price to other North American chain options in the area. It’s imperfect, but I’ve stayed in far worse. Here are my impressions and photos:
Pros:
- Upgraded to a Water View Queen with Balcony on the top floor - the room definitely isn’t big, but it seemed like a good attempt at an upgrade
- Bed is generally comfortable - plush mattress, plush pillows, covers could be more plush and less lumpy (but okay with climate control paradigm)
- Offered late checkout proactively - no issue with 2 PM
- Staff at front desk and Housekeeping were friendly
- WiFi was fast
Neutral:
- Shower pressure is just fine
- One of the welcome gift choices is 10 euros per day - the breakfast buffet is 20 euros per person - BUT you can order eggs separately for 5 euros without paying for the buffet - was able to get a very large ham and cheese omelet fully covered by the credit - I didn’t think the buffet (which had pre-cooked frittatas as the egg choice) looked worth paying for
Cons:
- No in-room Ambassador welcome gift
- No AC in the rooms during the winter - quite hot and stuffy unless the window is opened, which lets bugs and noise in
