We were in Amalfi and Positano in May but decided against the mayhem getting there via public transport and car hire. We took a private boat trip from Sorrento where we were based. So much more relaxing. Some of the worst pasta I’ve had has been in Rome. No alcohol on a plane until 6pm is nuts. Just cost cutting imo
Driving around the Amalfi coast is pure insanity. It was nice to visit but it was so congested that I can't imagine going back.
