The Hilton Grande Asoke is a former Pullman, which was converted not too long ago (if my memory serves me right, they switched on 1 January). It is a bit of an old property, and could do with a touch-up, but the staff are absolutely lovely. And if Asoke is your scene, then you will be absolutely fine at that property.
Thanks. Yeah I'm sure it will be fine. Better a worn formerly grand property than a new Holiday Inn Express? Dunno, my needs are generally met at both. Especially the HIX properties in Asia--they put their American cousins to shame. Worked out well, as I couldn't get any IHG hotels booked for the whole week through, only splitting up the stay. And I had no idea there was a 5th Night Free with Hilton. I wonder if that was because I got a Hilton amex card (the no annual fee one), or if it's always a "thing." I love the 4th Night Free I get from IHG having the Chase IHG card. Has served me well in Asia.

Any idea where I can get a good, inexpensive western-style breakfast nearby (200 baht or less)? Or just purchase croissants somewhere close? I reckon I can get fruit and yogurt at any 7 Eleven. I don't have Hilton status so I don't get breakfast for free, and I won't pay hotel prices.
