Lots of airlines have ticket offerings that included unbundled tickets that do not include seat selection AF and QR being just 2 examples otger than BA.

QR even has unbubdled business class tickets that do not include lounge access.

It is highly unlikely you will be offloaded, even without a pre selected seat. Unless you are in F, its more likely of you'll be upgraded than offloaded.
