One final update: After trying repeatedly for another day, I tried to in-app chat feature on the Alaska app and the person on the other end was able to resolve it. They said that my first name had been accidentally deleted from my account and they added it back in. Once they did, it worked immediately. The explanation makes no sense to me in that I couldn't even get into the transfer portal (I understand your info must match between accounts, but I couldn't even get to the point in the process to give my Hawaiian account info so it wasn't a matter of it not matching). But it's fixed and I'm all good.
