The problem is a) where do you draw the line and b) how do you verify the truth... travel insurance is exactly for this purpose (they pre-define the line and ask for proof of any claim) but I do think a certain degree of care is needed not to distress an already upset customer... that said, can you imagine how many people try it on every day? as always, the few ruin it for the masses.
