I know this is an old post, but I wanted to comment also about UA's handling of strollers. On two consecutive flights UA severely broke my stroller. It was so broken that it actually looked intentional. My belief is that the baggage handlers at UA know they are not responsible and intentionally damage strollers as there is zero recourse. I will never fly with them again with a stroller. It has cost me more than my tickets.
