I've business class tickets for my family of 3. Qatar refuse to commit to us sitting together unless I pay over $700 for oneway seat pre-selection (HCM > DOH > GRU). I've never experienced anything like this. Anyone else had this experience? The service staff, if I can call them that, were super dismissive. Surely, this should be a basic service request. Any suggests on how to handle this going forward. It's a special occasion, and I just dont want the angst of waiting to check-in to see if we can sit together. No one at Qatar seems to care less.
