I have flown AF a few times and liked their efficient service. As I am typing this I am on hold... again.
Long story short. My daughter, her husband and grandchild are coming to Paris (where I live) for Xmas. Her husband is returning earlier (work). So I am trying to book my daughter's and grandchild's ticket. I tried booking online F or the equivalence CDG-LAX for 2, it kept getting refused since she is an infant. I called the call center (currently I am not in France but another country- so long distance int' call) I stayed with the lady for 1:20 trying to figure out the flight. An infant can't have a seat on F/B. OK, premium economy, the problem is the armchairs can't be moved. So the best solution is to buy 3 seats, 2 for them and a 3rd unoccupied.
10 calls later (this one 11th) and I still can't reach the dept that handles the unoccupied seat.
What is wrong with you AF????
