There are several Marriott options very close to the Main Train Station (Hauptbahnhof, commonly abbreviated as Hbf).
LM and Aloft are just across the street from the entrance. CY City Center is just a block further away.
These would be your best options if you really want to be VERY close to the main train station.
To the West are some more options that are either a longer walk, or a short tram ride, down the Bayerstrasse st..
Roomers and Marriott West, along with a Residence Inn just a block off the main street
There are also a cluster of limited service options at Ostbahnhof (East Train Station, which is a pretty active and connected secondary rail hub).
There is a Moxy, Residence Inn, and CY there.
You may be able to catch convenient trains from Ostbahnhof, instead of the main station. Just do some searching to see what is available for your destinations.

Or, there are very frequent trains between Ostbahnhof and Hbf if needed.
Munich is very well connected by public transport. If you wish to look at the other options, based on price / rooms / award availability / etc, it should be pretty easy to get around Munich as well as to the train station for your longer distance destinations.
