Is this the best DoubleTree you've never heard of? The level of service here exceeds service I've had at the luxury Hilton brands elsewhere in the world.

The staff really were OUTSTANDING to the point of it being a little too much for someone like me who isn't really into that type of thing, but they were so nice and so keen to help in any way they could. Everyone knew my name before I had a chance to say it!






This hotel opened in early 2021 and is located in the city of Surabaya - the 2nd largest city in Indonesia.

I booked a base level room using points, which came out at 48k for 3 nights or 16k per night. A few days before I was upgraded to a King Deluxe Suite. It's around 40-60 minutes by Grab from Surabaya airport. I had a pre-arrival email from the hotel asking about my arrival time and if I required an airport transfer etc.

I arrived early afternoon after my flight from Bali - they offered to check me in at the lounge but I didn't feel it was necessary.

I arrived at the tail end of afternoon tea time in the lounge (located on floor 5) so popped down for a coffee. The afternoon tea runs from 1500-1700 and the evening cocktails from 1700-1900. The lounge itself is open 1000-2000 for coffee, soft drinks and also had some light ambient snacks like dried banana, granola squares and nuts etc.












Breakfast was served in the restaurant and was pretty extensive, although more aimed to the domestic market with a splattering of western options.
