Lie Flat
Of all the legacy 777, Air India has VT-ALX which has 2-3-2 business class which does have lie-flat seats similar to those on TK. Is your flight definitely on a 777-200LR or is it a 777-300ER?
In fact, there were 3 aircraft that were purchased 6-7 years ago, VT-ALV, VT-ALW, and VT-ALX and all had the newer lie-flat 2-3-2 seating that TK has. However, after about two or three months of service, ALV and ALW were requisitioned by the government to turn into K7066 and K7067, the two designated aircraft to serve as Air India One for VIP transport. For some reason, VT-ALX still remains in Air India. Maybe you’re slated to be on it?
I’ve flown on ALV and ALX before and even got an op-up on a domestic hop from J to F once. It’s still essentially the same legacy product but back then it was nice and new and clean and had lie-flats.
