Status Based on EQMs from Both Hawaiian and Alaska

Although Alaska announced that EQMs earned during 2024 with both Hawaiian and Alaska count towards status I wanted to confirm that this was all EQM's including those from charging on the Barclays credit card. Alaska customer service consulted with their specialist and confirmed this is correct.

However I couldn't find anything about when the tallying up would take place. Alaska customer service assured me it will be "before the end of the year" which is great for anyone who has earned EQMs on Hawaiian, has trips coming up in early 2025 and who is expecting a bump to a higher elite status..

Since the ability to earn status through spend runs though the end of the year presumably they'll credit EQMs earned on Hawaiian by running a first tally before the end of the year as they've promised then again after credit card accounts cycle in the New Year to catch those earned during the last billing cycle.

That would be effectively how they handle EQMs earned on the Alaska card so I see no reason to disbelieve what Alaska has told me. But given those EQMs took about a month to credit after a card cycled anyone looking to charge their way to a higher status before a trip early in 2025 might want to do so during the second to last rather than their last billing period of 2024.
