Many thanks to both of you. I was able to change to a much earlier flight, now arriving at 14:15 (giving me more than 24 hours in Oslo) and booked a room at the Sommerro. It’s further from Central Station, but at least now I’m arriving at a more reasonable time and can use a US$200 AMEX credit at the hotel.
And it still looks to me like I can follow your advice and take the
YV train rather then the airport express train to Nationaltheatret stasjon.
