I ended up choosing the Sofitel Legend Hotel. Loved it!
- Accessed a 4 nights for 3 offer via a Travel Agent. Good savings.
- Travel agent package also came with an upgrade, $100 credit for the restaurant, early check-in, late check-out, free welcome cocktails. Free "one round" minibar (so you can get for free every drink in the minibar once, including some beers, but no wines/spirits)
- Room is French/European style, probably very trendy in the 90s or 00s. Maintained very well, had no issues at all.
- Breakfast was wonderful. Good amount of selection. Albeit not much variation day to day.
- Pool is small, but very clean and quiet and nice. Bring a swim cap if you want to use.
- Location is not near the main touristy "nightlife" hub where the Westin, Hualuxe are... not much of interest within walking distance. But it is smack in the middle of the old city, so a quick Didi or cab to old city sights. Which you will probably do.
- Chinese restaurant on-site is actually pretty good; that's where I used my credit. There is also a Japanese restaurant (buffet only at night? didn't look too interesting) as well as the International restaurant (where breakfast is served. Did not try lunch or dinner).
- No extra recognition for Silver that I could see, on top of what I got above.

Overall, I think it depends what you're doing. If you're plannig to enjoy the nightlife, and the restaurants around the Hualuxe area on most nights, go stay there. I went to visit their Chinese restaurant one day (very very good food) and the lobby was stunning. Not sure about the rooms.
