Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Not really - it was fine for what I needed but not the best

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Lake View Standard; upgraded to King Bed Premium Lake View (which they seemed to be charging the same for)

How are the rooms?
Comfortable bed and good bathroom. Nothing seemed any different to what you would get in a HIX/HI in the US. As it is an Even, there was a small exercise area in the room. Something wrong with the TV; colours were all wrong. AC had not been switched on when I arrived so room was very hot and humid; it took an hour or so to cool.
I can’t see why IHG classify this brand in their Premium category (alongside CP and Voco)

How is the exec. lounge?

What was good and what was bad?
Bad
Shuttle just slowed down (rather than stop) at airport meeting area and didn’t see me waving so I had to run after it and managed to tap on window to get driver’s attention.
Diamond amenity happened before check-in and I was not offered breakfast.

Staff generally had a poor attitude; check-out was “give me your key card - OK you can go”

Good
The hotel provided what I needed after a long flight from the UK, i.e. a comfortable bed close to the airport.
I paid for breakfast and it was quite nice (even though orange juice served in a plastic cup)
Hotel grounds are really nice - didn’t get to use the pool but it looked good
Walking distance to rental car centre where I needed to be the next morning

Value for $ or IHG One Rewards Points? Would you return?
I booked using points when they had the discount available so it was only 18,700 points for the night. On this basis, if I were in the same situation again, I might return and just hope staff are slightly better.
