On full flights there will be no block. The busier the flight the less likely the block will hold. People of the same staus as you or higher will see the seat beside you as available and can choose it. People of a lower status will not be able to select it unlrss the block gets releasec

I hope that it will work though on an intercont flight witz more than 20seats open in Y
