Yes, the old Irish mile had mixed arrivals/departures for gates 78-90. A staffer would stop (all) passengers returning to the CTA departure area, so the Wetherspoon Express a little further back used to have a sign of "last pint before Ireland".
Gates (from memory) 76-78 had dual domestic/Ireland capability with sliding doors allowing passengers to be sent via the Irish mile or over to the UK gates, with access to flight connections if needed.
