Hotel Indigo Bath

What is your Priority Club status? Platinum

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Um... slightly more satisfied than not - just.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? King Double booked, upgraded to Deluxe king double... with minifridge.

How are the rooms?
Being a re-purposed older building the room has a classical style. High ceilings, unusual spaces and shapes. We both felt that overall it was quite stylish and in keeping with its environment.
Our room had a long-ish entry hallway containing the wardrobe and bathroom door, with the bedroom area further on.
Bed room area was around 16-18sq m, plus the entry space and bathroom. Total floorspace probably around 30sq m.
rooms have a playing card theme, but also decorated with some classical pictures "adapted" in an artistic style. Not sure what vibe they were going for, not that it really matters,
Classical furniture, but feels a little cluttered with not a lot of floor space for walking around, suitcases, or somewhere to put all the bed cushions and bedcover.
Enough power sockets, the ones by the bed each had USB-A charge ports.

How is the exec. lounge?
n/a

What was good and what was bad?
bad

too many light switches; rotary dimmers dont work well (broken) and not clear on their operation. Took several hours to try and get enough light to see into bags etc.
Heating/AC took a few attempts to get it working.
Not a lovely view from the main window, but we didn't go for the room window view.
couldn't get the towel rail/radiator in the bathroom to work. Couldn't be bothered to ask.
No on-site parking though a public car park is just 50m away, but only if it has space. There is #40 valet parking, but i don't beleive in that - at least in the UK.
Our second morning and we had an early departure, but no hot water. At 7am reception said "yes, they're working on it now, it may be ready by late morning". No apology and late morning is no good for us or anyone else checking out that Sunday. On checkout i was told as a plat that the GM would contact me and i have their card - we''ll see. What's the going rate for points compensation for no hot water?
Starting to look a little tired. Chipped paint and damaged wooden flooring easily visible. Bathroom fittings looking to need a little maintenance

good
comfortable bed
good breakfast: continental buffet and freshly cooked full english if required.
good heating warmed the room up comparatively quickly - once we'd worked out how to operate it.
Coffee machine in the room on its own small table, kettle, and complementary soft drinks in the minibar.
Receptionist helped with baggage up to our room.
Staff were helpful and seem willing to engage and help guests.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Around £300/night incl breakfast for a weekend stay. It's the centre of Bath on a weekend and a comparatively upscale brand so i guess it's not going to be cheap. Maybe would return, but MrsFr is today not generally positive.
