I arrive at 2C on Qatar Airways at 1.15pm. My next flight, to Nice (on a separate ticket), is on Air France, departing 3.45pm. On QR I'll be hand luggage only - one roller suitcase and backpack, in business. On AF, I'm in economy, and I've paid for one checked bag. Trying to be safe because AF might not permit a medium-sized backpack and a roller as carry-on.

Do I need to go landside (past passport control) before checking in for my flight to Nice or is there somewhere airside where I can drop off my checked bag for that second flight?

I'm hoping it is the latter, else it might be tight on a 2.5 hour "connection".
