In Australia is the usual carry on is a lot less than common practice with USA airlines.
Size & weight can be enforced.
Sorry, I did not word it correctly. My checked bag was 55.6 lbs - so 6 lbs over 50, not 6 lbs over 70. The question is does the UA Gold 70 lbs. limit extend to the rest of the journey - specifically the leg on VA. The UA system shows 70 lbs for the VA leg but...

I have a plan if it does not work but just want to understand the rule.
