Leave items at home or throw out some junk. Your UA /USA piece system should apply to VA (but not 110% sure)
76lbs = 34.47kg. 32kg is weight limit for Occupational Health &Safety (and union rules)

In Australia is the usual carry on is a lot less than common practice with USA airlines.
Size & weight can be enforced.
