Stayed here recently. I think this is probably one of the better bang for buck hotel's you can stay at in DC, and will probably be my main DC hotel unless the Park Hyatt's rates are close (which they sometimes are)..
Breakfast is surprisingly good here. On one day, I ordered a bacon egg and cheese and on another, the chicken sandwich. Both were delicious. Its positioned in a good place to Uber everywhere (which cost at most $12), and is near a train station. Lots of fun bars and good restaurants (shout out to Chloe and Albi).
I always forget Thompson uses Bowmakers toiletries from DS Durga, which I think of as a higher tier fragrance maker than Le Labo (which PH's use). Shame they didnt commission them to make a custom scent like The Carlyle did, but thats a thread for another time.
Some negatives:
- As noted, the shower kind of spills on the floor and there is no way to adjust it.
- My blanket had a hole in it. I didn't complain because whatever, but it was promptly replaced the next day anyway.
- I stayed in the balcony king bed. The working desk in the room was tiny, if that matters to you.
