those little rouge 319’s do suck for overhead bin space. Just imagine if they had 25 carry-ons that were gate checked and had to be delivered to the boarding ramp in Toronto before they let any passengers off the plane. And then someone gets there and realizes their bag isn’t there and they wait and then somebody else does the same and pretty soon you can’t get anybody off the plane. Much more efficient to just have them grab it in the baggage hall.
Though the flight was fairly full there was overhead space in the aircraft. What they should have done it but never do is stop the two carryon size bags being taken on board. I saw a guy take in a normal size carryon and the same size duffel bag and a backpack.
