I think that's even difficult to answer, because when you have AA status, your cost per LP goes WAY down as well because your bonus multiplier for higher status levels. On a domestic Japan flight, despite it being only 250 miles, I'm still at about 13 cents per LP, but on a long haul QR business class ticket I'm about to fly, I'm at just over 6 cents per LP despite it being a P fare and only a 25% cabin bonus. But for a base member with no status, that exact same itinerary is 12 cents per LP (still pretty decent).
I agree, it is a bit difficult, but I'm talking about for somebody without any status. If you have status, you can always multiply by the correct amount for the level you've attained and the cost per LP will go down accordingly.
I'm not going to start posting 5 different values, I'll just let people see the base value and go from there. Too much work and it could be confusing to post the value for every status level.
I'm more worried about the cost per mile flown, which should result in an acceptable cost per loyalty point or elite qualifying mile (AS). I try to keep deals under 16 cents per mile USD, although preferably under 14 cpm.
