I m wondering whether I should take next Sunday:
1) the direct LHR-BLR with BA (economy class K) at 13:45 from LHR arriving at 5am at BLR
2) or the flight with QR at 8:45am from LHR arriving at 2:00am eventually at BLR (1h40 stopover in Doha)

Where I see positive in QR:
food, service and earlier arrival meaning I will sleep longer (I only have meeting in the afternoon on the Monday in BLR) and cutting the flight is not a bad idea (6h + 4h with 1h40 layover)
Cons: there is no Premium Economy

Where I see positive in BA: direct and potential upgrade to WTP (Premium Eco) as I did earlier this year
but food and service will be lower.
Also old 777-200 for BA vs 787-8+A350-1000 for QR.

I m silver, potentially chasing some tiers points for renewing my Silver status for next year but this is not a must as I foresee another trip in the future in India.

Basically, does QR in eco, earlier departure really is worth choosing over a direct flight but with BA ?
