My apologies if this is repetitive, I've not been following this thread. Thinking about establishing a Citigold or other Citi “elite” account only for possible easier credit card approval(s).

Recently applied for Citi AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard, my first Citi application since churning Citi Hiton cards until 8 years ago and churning Citi AA cards until 7 years ago. Declined due to - high amount of unused credit compared to available credit lines, - insufficient credit history on accounts, - recently opened one or more accounts, - too many recent credit inquiries. Tried to discuss with recon but Citi doesn’t seem to have a realistic recon process.

No problems getting (way too) many credit cards from Chase, AmEx, Barclays, and WF over the past 20 years. At my age, could easily transfer a 10 or 20 year old equity position to a linked Citi investment account to meet the requirement(s). My only history with Citi banking is a short lived savings account 5 years ago to get Ultimate Rewards points and a short lived checking/savings account 12 years ago to get AA miles. Transferred assets to Chase 8 years ago only to become CPC only as a way around 5/24 which worked very nicely, about to transfer other assets to Chase to change from CPC to Chase Wealth Advisor or Chase Private Bank mainly for an expected JPM Reserve card approval.

Question is, does a Citigold Private Client account include or allow for easier credit card approvals, including when otherwise would be declined for the reasons above? Does Citi have other “elite” account types which might be helpful for credit card approvals? Thank you.
