Especially because the boundaries are often so fluid.
From the photos, I prefer the Continental. I can still remember my father introducing it to me as one of the leading luxury hotels in Europe when I was a child. It's debatable, but you'd be hard pressed to find anything better than the Continental and the Thief.
My aim is always to stay in the best local hotel. Sometimes I can't answer whether it's luxury or not
