The only thing that doesn't generate that error is searching the exact same origin/destination on different dates.
I did eventually find a workaround for this. Select the bound(s) you want to change, then search for same O/D with a different date. Or I suppose same date will work. Once it pulls up search results, you can use the modify search function at the top of the page to change O/D and search for whatever you're actually trying to do.

Of course, after going through all that, and having it price correctly and take my payment information, it failed to ticket, so I had to phone in anyway. It should have been fairly quick, but the first agent I spoke to tried to do it as a change, and charge me 12K more points, because the price was now higher. Of course, when I pointed out the change had already been made and it just needed to be ticketed, ticketing was able to issue it in maybe a minute or so. Thankfully this wasn't one of those times there was a 45-minute wait for ticketing, and it was done fairly quickly, but definitely wasted several minutes with her trying to do the wrong thing instead of just pushing it to ticketing right away.

Unfortunately, tonight I can't even get the damned thing to do a search for options on changing the date on a simple single-bound, one-way PNR. Just the frigging spinning plane. Can someone with a tech background explain to me how they have built this thing so poorly that it pretty much never works? I'm genuinely baffled at how the absolute simplest of tasks usually eludes this online tool.

I'm also incredibly annoyed that I'm wasting even more time screwing around trying to get it to work than if I just phoned in.
