Sun 13 Oct at the new facility

it’s on 98th St east of Aviation Blvd; I saw signage for the other major companies directing returns to Levels 2 and 3, but those access ramps were blocked off, so I’d guess it will be a month or so before they also move in

it’s a good thing I got there ~0400 for my 0600 flight

the single entry lane from northbound Concourse Way (extension of Isis Ave) was very poorly marked, and there were barricades preventing a U-turn, so I had to loop back to eastbound Century Blvd via 96th St and Aviation Blvd

the front of the return lanes is at the east end of the facility (felt like it was halfway to La Cienega Blvd / 405), but the bus load/unload area is along Concourse Way on the west end (the fairly large “Rental Car Bus Only” signage is just beyond the small right-turn sign for the car return lane), so it’s a fairly long bag drag from car to bus

once all the major rental companies begin operating at this site, I can easily see Concourse Way backups spilling over to Century Blvd on a regular basis; next time I have an early departure from LAX, I’ll seriously think about staying at the Westin the last night of the trip, walking back to the hotel after returning the rental car, and using the hotel shuttle to get to the airport in the morning
