We found the Park Hyatt Jeddah very pleasant. We found the city of Jeddah boring with little to see and do. Jeddah was our gateway city enroute to Al Ula. We had more nights at the hotel than we wanted due to the lack of flights to Al Ula on the day we hoped to travel.
Everything was good at the hotel. The hotel driver was waiting for us on arrival at 1am. It is about a half hour to the hotel. I had used a suite upgrade and had a comfortable room all prepared. There was a lavish array of sweets, fruit, and an assortment of dates in our room. The fruit was replaced daily. Our suite faced the water on the ground floor. I would have preferred being on a higher floor to give a better view of the water We had a spacious living room and bedroom, with 1 1/2 baths. The only downside - and I considered it significant - was the very small closet. Space could have easily been taken from the bedroom to enlarge the closet.
Service was extremely good and staff truly wanted us to have a good stay. I was the only western woman til the final night so everyone knew our name. The buffet breakfast was typical and ordinary. Dinner on the other hand was excellent with a good menu. I love Indian food and the Indian chef prepared an expansive delicious meal one night for us. It had multiple curries, pakoras, chicken bits flavored in different ways, biryani, raita and desserts. A full meal included appetizer, main, dessert, and beverage for 299 SAR plus VAT, With tax and tip, that was roughly $100 per person. My reading before the trip suggested a 10% tip so that is what I did. We only ate breakfast and dinner during our stay. Food was good enough that we didn't venture off property We ate outside in the cool of the evening by the water. There were varied musicians each night.
There are a lot of luxury brand hotels in the city but few were on the water. I liked the location of the Park Hyatt.
