Of course I’m obsessively early to airports in case of traffic etc which would factor in a slow driver. In 1995 my Madrid taxi broke down on the way to a bus (to take me from Madrid to Cuellar - in hindsight I should have indeed taken the train to Segovia and then taken a bus from Segovia to Cuellar) and that taught me to allow for more time. When I rideshare from east bay to sf (or reverse) I now only use the big rideshare (uber XL) because regular uberX drivers aren’t consistently good on distance.
