GE is still quicker. There may be fewer kiosks, but they are much, much quicker than the old ones. And you can use the GE app to completely bypass the kiosk. I just can't imagine that using the MPC app makes any sense, or has ever made any sense, for GE users.
Yes, the current kiosks at EWR GE (Term B) you just look at, it captures your image, and then a message directs you to the agent at the exit booth who asks if you have anything to declare. It's definitely much faster than the old ones where you had to scan your passport.
