I'd add that you might want to compare day use rates with the hotel nightly rate. If your layover is at hours you can check in/out, sometimes it's cheaper. DFW has multiple local hotels with shuttles, as well. If you are Globalist with Hyatt or have access to a GOH pass, the HP DFW (just outside the south exit) and the HP Grapevine both may allow 9 a.m. check in, depending on the day. The Grapevine Hyatt Place is older, but excellent customer service, shuttle, and walkable to Grapevine Mills. Last time I stayed there, cash rate was $93.
