Cathay's Lack of Special Liveries
I just wanted to know what other people think about the lack of special liveries on the CX fleet. I think they have been very boring and have regressed in terms of special liveries since they started their brand transformation. We don't have anything except 5x Oneworld liveries on their 77Ws (KPD, KQI, KQL, KQM, KQN), and a small, hardly noticeable sticker on a 333 (HLR). They removed the (rather bland) Spirit of Hong Kong livery from a 773 earlier in the year and there has been no replacement. CX used to have a multitude of special liveries, including;
Multiple versions of the Spirit of HK livery;
An Asia's World City livery;
A 1000th A330 sticker;
A 100th aircraft sticker;
And a 50th 777-300ER sticker.
I am quite disappointed to not have seen a new Spirit of HK livery, or any special livery similar or different to the ones I have listed. I am not sure why they haven't given us something apart from the oneworld liveries since CX used to be known for having some eye-catching liveries. Maybe it is down to the new management at CX or their refreshed brand identity, but I think they should do something with one of their planes. It does seem like the perfect time for them to do something with an A35K since a lot of them are going into D-checks now, and none have a special livery or sticker as of now, so hopefully something comes out of that. Has anyone heard of any special liveries which might be coming soon, or any idea why Cathay hasn't got any more cool liveries?
