Yes, I understand all of this very clearly. I do find it interesting that some consider the mere act of switching & asking after not before to be a deal-breaker, independent of any substantive reason for prefering one seat over the other. For those who take this approach: would you refuse to switch a less-preferred seat for a more-preferred one, if the switch occurred pre-ask instead of post-ask?
