In 35+ years of flying AA (and nearly 20 years since Terminal D opened), I have never been to any on the lower D gates, let alone the D1-D4 section which is in an entirely different area code.

Today my MSY-DFW flight arrived at D1. My connection to SNA is departing from B18, about a mile away (not exaggerating) according to the DFW map on the AA app. With plenty of time between flights (1:45), I chose to walk it, stopping in the Terminal D AC along the way. All reasonably pleasant. (The sausage in the lounge did squirt juice on my phone, and although I was able to wipe it off with a napkin, I will, of course, be writing to AA to complain and seek compensation.)

BTW, on my DFW-SNA flight I am number 8 on the upgrade list, the lowest I recall ever being as an EXP. I’m used to being 1 or 2. More complaints/demand for compensation coming! DYKWIA!
